1. Every person must be born again to know God and have everlasting life…
• In John 3:3 Jesus says; “I tell you the truth, no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.”

2. The reason why we must be born again is because we have all sinned. Okay, so what is “sin”?
• Sin is “missing the mark” (or target) that God has for us to be right with Him.
• Sin may seem little to us at the time we are doing it, but it is very wrong in God’s eyes.
• Sin sets up a barrier to keep us out of God’s presence and having a relationship with Him.
Every single one of us who has ever been born on this earth has sinned against God by violating His law in one way or another.
• In Romans 3:23 Paul says; “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.”

3. God’s original and existing sentence for sin is death but the Good News is He has created a way out for us if we will choose it.
• “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23).
• “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8).
• In John 14:6 Jesus tells us; “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

4. We cannot “earn” salvation - we cannot get it on our own by anything we “do”. Salvation is a gift from God to us – all we have to do is receive it.
• In Ephesians 2:8-9 the Bible says; “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.

5. Being saved or born again is receiving and confessing Jesus Christ as your Lord (master), and committing yourself to follow His Word.
• In Romans 10:9-10 the Scripture says; “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
• 1 John 2:3 says; “We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands.”

6. If you can understand this, won't you decide now to make an awesome and life-changing commitment?
If so, all you have to do is say a simple prayer out loud. (Something like the following, but you can use your own words)…
• God, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I know that I have sinned against you and I ask your forgiveness for what I have done. I believe that you sent your son Jesus to die for my sins, and you raised him from the dead so that I could live an everlasting life. I now turn my back on all past sin and renounce any false organizations or religions that I have been involved in. I am now a child of God!

Congratulations! – Praise God! You are now born again, forgiven, right with God and on your way to heaven. You are a new creature!
• 2 Corinthians 5:17 says; “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!”

This is just the beginning for you though. You need to renew your mind constantly to live a powerful life as a Christian…
• Romans 12:1-2 says; “Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God – this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

So:
• Get your hands on a Bible! - The best way to renew your mind is to get into God’s Word (See Romans 10:17).
• Get hooked up with a Bible-believing church! - You need fellowship with others of your kind (Hebrews 10:25).
• If doubts or fear come along about your salvation, reject them (they are from the devil) and realize that God’s Word is what your new birth is based on, not what you think or feel (Romans 10:9-10). YOU ARE A CHILD OF GOD!.....FOREVER!
